The complex investigation of some existing and perspective protected areas in the Middle Dnieper region was conducted, history of formation of protected areas was studied. New localities of rare plant and animal species were found. The list of vascular plant species for Cherkasy region was compiled. Owing to climate warming the qualitative and quantitative changes of winter ornithofauna take place in the region. Number dynamics and state of populations of some species of plants, animals and fungi were monitored.5635
