The research methods are petrographic and chemical methods of analyses. The influence of different binding agents on mullite corundum properties has been researched. The possibility of using mullite corundum mortar of MMK-85-1 as a binder of silicate binding agent of Lithopix S2 in the course of production has been determined. Its use provides mortar strength properties increase (~ by 20%), as well as it allows broadening the source of raw materials in the course of mortar production. In accordance with ND requirements mortar pilot batches of MMK-85-1 have been produced in pilot production of OJSC "The Ukrainian research institute of refractories named after A.S. Berezhnoy".
