The purpose of the work is development of the new technology of the blowoff plugs. The research methods are chemical, physical mechanical, petrographic ones. The laboratory technological researches concerning the selection of fine plug constituent composition based on alumina, aluminum magnesia spinel and chromic oxide have been carried out. It has been shown that chromic oxide introduction in amount of 5 % allows increasing slag resistance of products by 40 %. The production technology of corundum spinel chromic oxide plugs of optimum composition has been developed. The properties indices have been determined. The pilot corundum spinel chromic oxide blow off plugs with height of 380 mm with the use of charge of optimum composition have been produced. The pilot batches of corundum spinel blow off plugs and set blocks for application in steel teeming ladles of the enterprises: CC MM"ISTIL (Ukraine)", PC"Dneprospetsstal", CC "Donetsstal - MP", PC "Alchevsk metallurgical integrated works", "Elektrostal Co Ltd" and PC " Metallurgical integrated works "Azovstal" have been produced. The work shall be continued in the line of application testing of different types of dispersing agents while in the course of corundum spinel chromic oxide vibrocast plugs production, their testing and widening consumer market of blow off plugs.
