The purpose of the work is corundum spinel refractories development. The research methods are chemical, physical mechanical, spectral, petrographic ones. The production technology of corundum spinel refractories with the use of fused aluminum magnesia spinel in charge with the proportion Al2O3/MgO 85/15 and 78/22 has been developed. The samples resistance of the following refractories to technical carbon at 1580оС has been shown. The spinel application with the proportion Al2O3/MgO 85/15 as providing higher samples strength (70 H/mm2) is more preferable. The samples of the served refractories after 17 months of service have been selected, the researches have been carried out, refractory wear mechanism has been determined, the ways of increasing lining resistance with their use have been shown. The batch of thermal resistant mullite corundum refractories with high refractoriness (more than 1800оС) which is directed at testing technical carbon production reactor in lining has been produced. The research shall be continued in the line of refractory production with chromic oxide and zirconium oxide additions with the purpose of increasing resistance to technical carbon at temperatures higher than 1700оС.
