Karazin popup.description2 The objects of study were mitochondria, microsomes, homogenates of liver, heart and brain, and blood serum of male rats of 4 month of age and female rats of 12 month of age, homogenates of imago of Drosophila melanogaster (Oregon-R and White strains). The effect of intensity of active oxygen species generation on the rate of aging and possibilities of aging slowing by means of correction of efficacy and intensity of function of membrane-bound systems of electron transport were investigated. It was estabished that 2,4-DNP hadn't significant effect on the investigated indices in female rats, but there was the slowing of free radical formation in tissues of their progen. Calorie restricted diet was shown to lead to the increase of Drosophila melanogaster life span.
