The first one - "catastrophic" - realises in consequence of daming up the river. As a result of this the river ecosystem disappears and quite new - reservoir one - comes into being. The second way - successional. Further transformation is happening due to the successional changes under the influence of "catastrophic" evolutional event. It is leading to the creation of premises for evolutional changes in the ecosystem structure-functional organisation. The theoretical basis of management of ecosystem state and water quality of reservoir has been elaborated. The use of balance model of the assessment of transformation degree of ecological characteristics under the water masses movement is put at the base of methodology.
