Ruled surfaces, which admit transformations of Bianchi-Backlund type, are classified in spaces of constant curvature and in Riemannian products. Orientable closed three-dimensional manifolds that admit oriented foliations of non-negative curvature are classified. The Gromov conjecture about the macroscopic dimension is proved in the case of compact manifolds satisfying non-essentiality assumptions on the fundamental group.
