The objective is to identify documents for complying the annotated chronicles of archive's formation, study and forming a database of the archival collections. The methodological basis of research are recent developments in the field of archival studies in conjunction with general and special historical research methods. The study of complex documents and materials on the history of the Manuscript department and ways of formation of its funds have provided an opportunity to clarify a number of historical facts, and to outline directions of research and practice in reconstruction of manuscript collection. The results were included in the archival practice, particularly to replenish the stock accounting and documentation of manuscripts, improving the basic processes of archival work. Documents and materials on the history of manuscripts and archival collections were discovered and analyzed, annotated list of archives and manuscripts department prepared, annotated chronicles of the history and ways of forming archives was started preparing, as well as a package of guidance documents on basic processes work, registries of deposit funds were created.
