The fashion journalism forms public opinion about fashion, evaluates and predicts the social significance of a particular fashion phenomenon. The subject of the research ― the genesis and features of the functioning of Ukrainian fashion journalism ― has an interdisciplinary, polysystem and multifunctional nature and is considered in conjunction with the theory, history and anthropology of fashion, publication science, gender research and a number of social and economic disciplines. The tools of fashion journalism provide a number of functions: educational, informational, interpretive, axiological, communicative, recreational and criticism functions.
