The peculiarities of the discourse of history cause the translator’s necessity of classifying the discourse elements into nucleus and periphery. The classification enables application of such main strategies as: “foreignization” aimed at retaining foreign elements of a source language and “adaptation” aimed at adapting the foreign elements to a target language.
