The linguo-cognitive character of pre-final linguistic facilities is studied. With the help of pre-final metacommunicative blocks we can prepare and sometimes finish dialogic interaction. Their optional or obligatory presence, depending on the situation of intercourse, social status of communicators, is analysed. В статті аналізуються предзавершальні контакторозмикаючі метакомунікативні блоки, їх категоризація в англомовному художньому діалогічному дискурсі прощання. Вивчається лінгво-когнітивний характер предзавершальних мовленнєвий засобів, за допомогою яких відбувається підготовка, інколи і сам процес завершення діалогічної взаємодії, їх факультативність або обов‘язкова присутність залежно від ситуації спілкування, соціального статусу комунікантів.
