The article reveals the relevance of accounting for production costs and cost of production costs at the present stage of development of the Ukrainian economy, the necessity of the necessity of its implementation at industrial enterprises. On the basis of generalization of the legislative and regulatory framework, economic and scientific literature, a critical assessment of modern production cost accounting is given.
