Використовуючи квартальні дані за період з 1995 по 2007 рік, автори досліджують довгострокову функцію попиту на гроші в Єгипті. Досліджуючи її стабільність за структурними змінами, визначили, що функція попиту на гроші є нестабільною. Дослідники зробили висновок, що центральний банк Єгипту не може досягти стабільності цін дотримуючись режиму валютного таргетування. The article deals with the question: can the Central Bank of Egypt to achieve stability in prices following the tightening targeting? The answer depends on whether or not a stable function of demand for money in Egypt. Using quarterly data for the period 1995 to 2007, the authors examine the longun demand for money in Egypt. Exploring its stability by structural changes, determined that the function of money demand is unstable.
