Unlike fcc-metals in which the decreasing of grain size to 20 nm results in hardness growth accompanied by decreasing the plasticity, it was found the reverse effect in bcc-Fe, i.e. decreasing the grain size from 50 to 20 nm caused the decrease of hardness and increase of plasticity. Moreover, the decrease of Young’s modulus E with decreasing the grain size down to 20 nm was detected in nanoindentation experiments.
