The research focuses on functional peculiarities of English on-line Olympiad and compares it with English Olympiad, performed without usage of ICT. Through showing advantages and disadvantages of English on-line Olympiad, this research highlights the importance of such kind of Olympiad as a method of students’ knowledge control.
