The frequent use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, that takes place in patients with gout, leads to lesion of the gastrointestinal tract including the liver. One of the main mechanisms of pathological changes in liver tissue is the disruption of free radical oxidation of lipids. Antioxidant system in the human body works by decreasing the effects of the free radicals that forms in the affected tissues in combination with liver disease.
