Ілюстрація характеристик постмодерну на прикладі сім’ї дозволяє стверджувати, що постмодерністська сім’я є активним началом, суб’єктом, який визначає особливості епохи. In this article the analysis of the family in the light of characteristics that are considered to be inherent by postmodern era was done. Illustration of these postmodern characteristics on the example of the family suggests that the postmodern family is the subject, the active principle in determining the features of the era. Essential changes that we see in postmodern family produced the phenomenon of postmodernism. Postmodern family, like rhizome, is able to create own models but is not an heir of someone. The change of status and legitimation of knowledge, language games, the new model of connections and specific social relations like rhizome and networking organizations, nomadism as a form of nomadic behavior, loss of balance between public and private not only can be illustrated on the example of postmodern family, but is its family derivatives. That’s why the possibility of impact on postmodern society with future intentions to influence family or the state efforts to streamline the current family order seen by us as extremely limited.
