Tanzania is a preferred destination for foreign investment in Africa and is by far the top destination for investors to the East African Community. In 2014, the country received the third highest amount of FDI in Africa, after Kenya and Uganda. FDI covered half of the country’s current account deficit and approximately 6.5% of its GDP.
