Thrombocytopenia is a common hematological problem. If a patient with thrombocytopenia has high level of blood pressure, this increases the risk of a hemorrhagic stroke or other life-treating bleeding. Literature sources also indicate that thrombocytopenia in some cases may be an adverse effect of antihypertensive treatment.
