The article deals with questions of capitalization of banks as a growth factor of Ukraine's economy. The requirements of the NBU regarding the standards of bringing the statutory and regulatory capital banks to the minimum size are considered. The main tendencies of functioning of domestic banks are determined. The SWOT analysis of factors influencing the banking system of Ukraine is presented.
