Розділ «Філологія, журналістика, психологія» У межах пропонованої наукової розвідки з’ясовано поняття емоції і значущість емотивного лексикону у функціонуванні комунікативного соціуму, розглянуто сучасні актуальні класифікації базових емоцій у лінгвістиці та психології, встановлено продуктивні способи словотворення одиниць емотивного лексикону в американському варіанті сучасної англійської мови, досліджено семантичні характеристики емотивної лексики з опертям на вибраний фактичний матеріал, зокрема, сформовано лексико-тематичні групи емотивних лексичних одиниць, визначено їхню кількісну репрезентативність. Дослідження здійснюється з опертям на методи лінгвістичного опису, компонентного, словотвірного та кількісного аналізу. Within the framework of the suggested piece of research, the concept of emotion and the significance of the emotional lexicon in the functioning of the communicative society, the modern topical classifications of basic emotions in linguistics and psychology are considered. In the given paper the productive ways of word formation of the units of the emotional lexicon in Contemporary American English have been established, the semantic characteristics of the emotional vocabulary has been provided from the selected factual material, in particular, the lexical-thematic groups of emotional lexical units have been formed with their numerical representation determined.
