Physical and mental exhaustion of the body resulting from anorexia and a decrease in the protective forces of the immune system leads to the development of various somatic and dental diseases, including generalized periodontal disease (GPD). Motivation occupies a leading place in the structure of personality and is one of the key concepts used to explain the moving forces of behavior and activity. Among the factors that reduce the motivation to treatment in patients with GPD on the background of anorexia nervosa, the long-term reaction of denying the diagnosis comes first, which disintegrates human mental activity and makes it difficult to treat patients successfully. At the present time, the structure of motivation for treatment in patients with mental disorders, incl. anorexia nervosa, as well as the relationship of the dynamics of the structure of motivation and compliance are not fully understood.
