The thesis carries out the sociological conceptualization of volunteering as a sociocultural practice and its role in the formation of the social subjectivity of the person. Empirically the thesis is based on the findings of the author’s research: the critical discourse analysis of the mass media information of 2014-2018 collected in national governmental and non-governmental media, as well as in regional public/local governmental and non-governmental media resources; semi-structured in-depth interviews – 21 interviews with internally displaced persons (IDPs), engaged in volunteering practices in Kharkiv region. Based on the sociocultural approach and the practical paradigm, the definition of volunteering as a sociocultural practice is formulated. The thesis argues that volunteers and volunteer groups do have such characteristic as subjectness, because they do have all features of subjectivity. Додано в НРАТ 2026-04-13 Закрити
