They give the students the materials from certain branches of contrastive typology, acquaint them profoundly with the basic notions of contrastive grammar and stylistics that is the background for their independent learning at the study programme "Germanic languages and literatures (including translation), English as the first foreign language". The lectures are based on the use of knowledge in the form of separate content modules that integrate with other parts of the course.
