The information field is saturated with breaking news and images of war, death and destruction, and this information is overwhelming and frightening for people. All this affects the emotional health of Ukrainians, provokes anxiety and stress. Research shows that people respond differently to uncertainty, and that people with a higher tolerance for uncertainty may be less resilient and more prone to low mood, negative or depressed feelings, and anxiety. A large part of the uncertainty is directly related to the experience of neuropsychological tension, which leads to significant psychophysiological changes and can outwardly manifest itself in the form of negative emotions, changes in behavior, psychosomatic disorders, etc. There is a limited understanding of the concepts of nervous and mental stress and mental tension. Thus, the author’s nervous and mental tension belongs to the category of mental states, and mental tension belongs to the category of mental personality traits. The article states that nervous and mental stress accompanies any complex activity and much depends on the level of preparation for it. Unfavorable factors that increase nervous and mental stress are singled out. The degrees and classification of nervous-psychic stress in accordance with those mental functions, the change of which is most pronounced in adverse conditions, are considered. The level and degree of nervous and mental stress depending on various conditions, in particular, on the resources distributed by the organism, were analyzed. The dependence of stress levels on the age and gender of the individual is considered. It has been proven that nervous and mental stress in a situation of uncertainty is the cause and at the same time one of the functional manifestations of emotional stress. popup.nrat_date 2025-01-09 Close
