Лідери ЄС підтвердили, що вони твердо налаштовані надавати продовжену підтримку ЄС Україні, включаючи військову, фінансову, гуманітарну та політичну підтримку. Лідери також заявили, що останній пакет санкцій, який включав заборону на імпорт нафти з Росії, ще більше посилив тиск на Росію, щоб вона припинила війну проти України. Вони також заявили, що продовжуватимуть працювати над санкціями. During the European Council on 23 June 2022, EU leaders granted EU candidate status to Ukraine. In this context, they invited the European Commission to report to the Council on the fulfilment of the conditions specified in the Commission's opinion on Ukraine's membership application. EU leaders reiterated that they are strongly committed to providing continued EU support to Ukraine, including military, financial, humanitarian and political support. The leaders also stated that the last package of sanctions, which included a ban on oil imports from Russia, further intensified pressure on Russia to end its war against Ukraine.
