It managed to con- tribute around 40% to the overall Ukrainian exports in recent years and constantly shows growth. That drives an increase in interest in IT specializations/courses and overall demand for IT careers. Given that, investigation of the key metrics affect- ing wages in the IT market becomes increasingly important. This paper develops a model that predicts wages for IT specialists in Ukraine. The study utilizes traditional (OLS) and advanced algorithms (Neural Network and Random Forest) to capture both linear and non-linear dependencies between personal and professional char- acteristics affecting wages. The dataset used for the study comprises 62 thousand observations gathered by a survey conducted by DOU - an online community of IT specialists in Ukraine - over 2020 through 2023. Advanced modeling techniques and an extensive dataset used in the analysis make this study superior to other research that attempted the prediction of wages in the IT sector of Ukraine (Polchanov et al., 2024 [16]). The final developed model allows us to see which area/skill impacts wage the most, thus allowing individuals to plan personal development and careers efficiently. Додано в НРАТ 2025-05-09 Закрити
