Надано загальну характеристику ґрунтового покриву Полтавської області. На ділянках земель, переданих під залісення, закладено пробні площі, на яких вивчено стан створених лісових культур, а також природного поновлення, проведено вивчення ґрунтового та надґрунтового покриву; описані профілі ґрунтів, визначено їх тип; відібрано зразки для фізико-хімічного аналізу ґрунту; проведено фітоценотичний аналіз. На основі комплексного дослідження – стану лісових культур, ґрунтового та надґрунтового покриву оцінено лісопридатність земель, переданих під залісення. Доведено, що створенню лісових культур на малопродуктивних землях, переданих під залісення, має передувати їхнє детальне комплексне дослідження із застосуванням натурних та лабораторних методів дослідження ґрунту та методів фітоценточного аналізу. Надано рекомендації щодо асортименту порід для створення лісових культур на землях певного рівня лісопридатності. In the thesis work analyzed information sources on methods for assessing the forest potential of unproductive land, including of lands former agricultural use. In addition, the history of the creation of forests in the Poltava region and their current state is analyzed. The dynamics of the percentage of forest land on the territory of the Poltava region was studied. Is focused attention on the determination of saline soils suitability of to create forest plantations. On plots of land transferred for afforestation plots were laid on which soil and ground cover was studied; is described soil profiles, determined the type of soil, samples were taken to determine the acidity of the soil; performed phytocenotic analysis was. On the basis of a comprehensive study of soil and ground cover, the forest feasibility of lands transferred for afforestation is estimated. It has been shown that the forest-growing potential of the studied soils varies in a wide range - from completely forest-friendly to non-forestry. It has been proved that before the creation of forest crops on unproductive lands, it is necessary their to carry out their detailed comprehensive research using natural and laboratory methods for studying the soil and methods of phytocentric analysis.
