The topic is relevant because it analyzes the works of Ukrainian and foreign scholars devoted to the study of socio-political development of Transcarpathia in the period from X-XXI centuries. It is stated that there are ambiguous assessments of its overall development. Significant achievements of domestic scholars in the coverage of little-known pages of the historical past of the region, its prominent personalities, whose names were either completely forgotten, or were discredited. Emphasis is placed on the need for further research on this issue. It is noted that the activity of public organizations in Transcarpathia needs scientific attention.
