The topic is relevant because it analyzes the works of Ukrainian and foreign scholars devoted to the study of socio-political development of Transcarpathia in the period from X-XXI centuries. It is stated that there are ambiguous assessments of its overall development. Significant achievements of domestic scholars in the coverage of little-known pages of the historical past of the region, its prominent personalities, whose names were either completely forgotten, or were discredited.
