Registration Date 22-10-2021 Organization Institute of Mathematical Machines and System Problems NAS Ukraine. popup.description1 The overall goal of the project is to provide a new understanding of the key processes of atmosphere-ocean-ice interaction in the Arctic and Antarctic, their reactions and impact on global climate change and their consequences for society and the environment. To this end, a new numerical model of hydrothermodynamics of cavities in the ocean under shelf glaciers will be developed, which will be implemented in the model of ocean circulation and calculations of the processes of formation of deep ocean waters will be performed. The trajectories of Antarctic water masses will be studied using the Lagrangian model. The potential contamination of the Arctic Ocean with radionuclides under the influence of climate change will be estimated using mathematical models. The work is performed as part of a consortium of leading EU research groups in the fields of polar meteorology, oceanography and climatology. popup.nrat_date 2024-12-09 Close
