Among the compounds synthesized, substances hav been found which form stable complex compounds with Zn(II) salts in aqueous solution and separate out in crystalline form from their solutions. Forming coordination compounds with zinc-containing proteinase enzymes and bonding zinc ions that are at active site, such substances can act as efficient inhibitors of these enzymes and can be used as drugs for the treatment of cancer, infections and other diseases with are connected with high activity of zinc proteinases.
