Theoretical Results - Theoretical foundations of multipurpose sunflower hybrid breeding were developed; trends of breeding evaluations and selections for biochemical composition of seeds and huskness were established. Guidelines on determination of optimal parameters of oil plant production aimed at multipurpose products were developed and issued. A method for producing basic oil for industrial lubricants (patent for utility model) was developed. Practical Results -simple early-ripening inter-line sunflower hybrid 'Galaktika', three-line mid-early sunflower hybrids 'Azhur' and 'Izyumskiy', multi-purpose simple early-ripening sunflower oleic hybrid 'Metalist', multi-purpose three-line mid-early sunflower hybrid resistant to sulfonylurea herbicides 'Ravelin' were created and transferred to the state variety trials, which demonstrated advantages of these hybrids over the national standards in terms of economically valuable traits. Novelty - limits of the heterosis effect manifestation were established and trends of breeding assessments and selection for biochemical composition of seeds and huskness were defined for breeding of multipurpose sunflower lines and hybrids, combining ability of new lines-pollen fertility restorers-sources of high contents of saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids was determined. Effectiveness of Implementation - 49 licensing agreements were signed for selling sunflower parent components and hybrids 'Kochetok' and 'Zlatson'. 762,000.096 UAH was gained from the implementation of scientific results.
