The methodological basis of scientific research was a set of different scientific methods: study and analysis; logical and comparative analysis. The following private-scientific methods were used for the direct collection and processing of the necessary information: targeted study; observation; statistical and comparative analysis; logical-semantic; comparative legal; system-structural. The results of the study are aimed at improving the legislative and departmental regulations on the organization of activities of investigative units of the National Police of Ukraine.
