The purpose of the work at the second stage of the scientific research work is the development of mathematical tools for conducting substantiated studies of random oscillations of the "carriage–track" system and the dynamic interaction of its components under various parameters of the "wheel – rail" contact pair. Research methods – mathematical and computer modeling techniques for analyzing the oscillations of complex mechanical systems. During the implementation of the second stage of the research, the following results were obtained: – a calculation scheme and a mathematical model were developed for perspective studies of the spatial oscillations of the "freight train – track" system; – an assessment was conducted of the dynamic performance indicators of a railway car moving on tracks with various parameters; – an analysis was performed of the contact interaction between railway car wheels and the track during transitions to tracks with differing parameters under joint operations on Ukrainian and European railways. The results obtained at this stage will be used in future studies to determine optimal wheel parameters that ensure compliance with standard indicators of dynamics and interaction with the track for railway trains operating on domestic and European railways.
