Aim: to study the effect of intranasal administration of Antagomir-137 in the form of liposomes on GABAergic, neurotrophic and neurosteroid mechanisms of correction of emotional, motivational and cognitive disorders due to alcohol consumption. Methods: neuroethological, neurophysiological, biochemical (enzyme immunoassay), mathematical, statistical. Voluntary ad libitum alcohol consumption causes a high level of ethanol preference in 71% of rats in the 2-bottle test, affects the implementation of anxiety-phobic behavior, increases the baseline level of anxiety and leads to impaired short-term and long-term working memory; causes an imbalance in the brain system of GABAergic and hormonal-neurotrophic regulation with a decrease in the level of BDNF in the brain structures and blood serum of rats. Intranasal administration of Antagomir-137 in the form of lipo-somes maintained the motivational craving for alcohol, but contributed to a decrease in the dose of alco-hol consumed, restrained the level of anxiety and influenced the improvement of cortical mechanisms of short-term and partially long-term working memory. This is due to the restoration of modulatory neuro-steroid balance in the frontal neocortex, amygdala, and blood serum under the influence of Antagomir-137 and its differential effect on the content of BDNF and GABA in brain structures: normalization of BDNF and GABA levels in the neocortex, slowing down the decline in BDNF along with the restoration of GABA levels in the amygdala and the absence of their changes in the hippocampus.
